Hey, hello, no I didn’t fall off the blogging wagon again… Not. And to think I said on Twitter “You can expect three posts in one weekend” all those weeks ago… I was determined then, and now it makes me laugh. And sigh. But anyway, moving on… Today’s post is the last in my “outfits of 2018” series, which you’ll probably all be delighted to hear. But here’s the stickler: all of these outfits are actually yet to arrive on the blog. So if anything, it’s technically a spoiler of what’s yet to come. Yay?
Outfit Theme: Summer Nostalgia
No, I didn’t stand outside in a sleeveless Def Leppard t-shirt and a tiny skirt in the dead of winter to take photos. I might be daft, but I’m not that bad. These photos are little more than a nostalgic outfit flashback to summer/autumn 2018. Let’s be real here: winter fashion isn’t all that fun to play around with. It’s dark and cold constantly, and all I wanted to do/did was get cosy in a blanket cocoon whenever I wasn’t at work. And to be honest? I have no regrets about this decision.
When it comes down to it, my outfit choices have more or less stayed the same over the last few years. I think with my career changes, they’ve become somewhat more grown-up and streamlined. I’m turning 26 this year, after all! I really love a good culotte and blouse combo these days. But that’s not to say I don’t still gravitate towards skinny jeans, checkerboard Vans, and a slouchy band tee when the mood takes me… Which is a lot. What can I say, the typical emo outfit is strong with this one!
I’d love to know what your go-to outfit was in 2018? Let’s chat about it in the comments!
