Welcome to part two of my 2018 in outfits post series! One thing I don’t want to do is regurgitate what I wrote in the first post. So instead, I’m going to use it to chat through a number of outfit things. My most-worn pieces throughout the year that cropped up again and again. As well as my favourite pieces that made me feel the most confident. I love getting these insights from other people, so I’m using today’s post to provide them myself.
Outfit Essential 1 – Faux Leather Jacket
I tend to think that this is an essential in every wardrobe, not just mine! I really love the motorcyle-style and streamlined fit, it’s the perfect piece to add a hit of ’80s to any outfit while pulling off a I-just-threw-this-on look and vibe. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – my one fashion goal is to master looking put together almost effortlessly. It’s kind of ironic just how much effort that actually takes! But yeah, back to the point: faux leather jackets, 10/10 always.
Outfit Essential 2 – Dr Marten Boots
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t fond of the classic black boot, but the Dr Marten-style has always been dreamy. They go with everything, they’re a sturdy pair that last for years, and embody all the grunge vibes I wish I had as a teen. What else is there to say, really? They’re just a super cool option for adding a hint of badass-ery to any outfit. It’s not exactly something anyone’s going to say no to, am I right?
Outfit Essential 3 – Acid Wash Denim Jacket
My favourite jacket, hands down. I’ve had this one for years, and I can wholeheartedly say that I’ll wear it until it falls apart. Which I truly hope it never does. Another ’80s-esque gem, it just seems to add that effortless casual cool vibe to any outfit. And shockingly, it’s the one colourful (this is as colourful as I get, okay) piece in my wardrobe that I don’t have an issue with. As a monochrome obsessive, that’s a pretty major development, don’t you think?
