Animal Life: A Photo Diary From Dublin Zoo
Hi gang! The weather over the bank holiday weekend was absolutely beautiful, so we went to the zoo, and today I’m sharing a few snaps from my day. Animal life is so beautiful to me, it makes me wish that I studied zoology at university. Zoos are kind of a catch 22 for me. They keep animals in controlled environments, which isn’t right. BUT, animal life is preserved and they’re always well-treated in the zoos that I’ve visited. And that makes me really happy.
A word of advice if you decide to visit a zoo soon… Don’t bring a 50mm lens! The photos that I did take are lovely. But there are many I couldn’t use because the animals were far away. And I obviously couldn’t zoom with the 50. Lesson learned. I’m bringing my basic kit lens next time. Or maybe this is an excuse to invest in a new one… Eh?
It was absolutely roasting out on the day. So all of the animals were super sleepy and lazy, it was rather adorable if I’m honest. I know most go to places like the zoo to have their kids entertained. But it was lovely to see the animals happily and comfortably basking in their own environments. The red pandas will always have my heart! They’re so chubby and fluffy and essentially make my head explode with their cuteness.
I couldn’t believe that I got a shot of the robin before he flew away! My boyfriend was convinced he’d scatter as soon as the shutter went off. But clearly his need to pose was greater than his fear. AKA: yay for me! Hope you enjoyed this short post, I’ll be back with the usual later on in the week. I hope Tuesday has been good to you!
