Evening all! Let’s get this outta the way real quick: yes, I vanished for a month. Yet again. And the guilt I feel about it is so real. But, I had my reasons. I started a new job two weeks ago, which has completely zapped the life out of me. After working in my last job for almost two years, I’d completely forgotten how exhausting it is to learn how to do a job from scratch. It isn’t easy, but I really like that. I love that I’m constantly learning and pushing myself to be better. That’s my biggest aim every year, to be honest. To be able to look back on the year before and see so much growth in the best way. I’m feeling it, I’m seeing it, and I can’t wait to push myself further than ever before.

I also took a week off between jobs, which my new workplace were so kind to give me. So I essentially had a week of zero responsibility and worries. A kind of limbo, if you will. And it was so incredible. I switched off from everything, and took a real break from things. I’d spent very little time on social media too, which despite how much I love it, is a good thing. For the entire ten days or so, I was in Belfast in the most perfect weather. It actually couldn’t have been better! Granted, I got sunburnt a lot more than I anticipated… But hey, with my pale skin that isn’t exactly surprising.

I really recommend that everyone take a week off at some stage, to REALLY take a break from things. It did wonders for my sleeping schedule, my mental health, my overall well-being. I’d do it again in a heart beat, and I borderline insist that you all do the same!

The Baker Boy Hat

And finally, the outfit. I speak no word of a lie when I say that I pulled all of this out of the wardrobe and just hoped for the best. That works out in my favour more often than you’d think, and I was exceptionally grateful for it in this case! I never thought I was a hat person before, but the baker boy made me see otherwise. As dramatic as it sounds, I kinda feel like a different person in it? Is that weird? Maybe. This dress is highly impractical but I think it’s cool as hell regardless, and I’m hoping to get more wear out of it over the summer. If only I were a festival go-er… Regardless, this baker boy hat is kinda my new favourite thing. It looks chic as hell and hides my unwashed hair… Win! Yay for the baker boy!
