Y’know when you find a piece of clothing, and you just HAVE to have it? Yeah. That happened with this coat. I’ll set the scene for you. My mum was browsing the River Island website just before Christmas. Low and behold, the coat of my literal dreams was right there. I’m extremely partial to monochrome clothing, as you’ll know already. I’ve collected quite a few half-and-half pieces too, as you’ll see here, here, here and here. So a knee-length coat in the same colour palette was a no-brainer, really. I’m happy to say that I’ve been living in said coat ever since. It makes me feel professional, like an adult and cool as shit all-in-one. If that’s not the coat of dreams, I don’t know what is!
And as for the boots. THE BOOOOTS. At 5’11, I’m not a heels kinda girl in the slightest. But the second that I saw these on the Public Desire website, they had to be mine. As dramatic as it sounds, I knew that I’d regret it for the rest of my life if I didn’t invest. They’re another notch on my half-and-half monochrome aesthetic belt! Who knows, maybe by some miracle they might be in a freaking museum some day… So really, you could say I’m doing it for the people. Good deed: achieved! Anyway… I won’t lie, I definitely can’t walk properly in these. I wore flats for every single night out in university and thereafter, so heels are not my forte. Alas… They don’t love me, but I love them, and that’s enough. Pain is beauty and all that, right?
Have you got a piece of clothing that just had to be yours when you saw it?
