As you may know, I made the decision to switch to cruelty-free beauty in 2015. This year, I also decided to invest in what I use. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll love my holy grail bargain products until the bitter end. I’ve developed the mindset that you get what you pay for, so I’ve been spending more on cruelty-free products that will last. Hence, Kat Von D Beauty was obviously the answer.

Actually, that’s kind of a lie. I’ve been using Kat Von D Beauty for years. I bought my first palette seven years ago on my seventeenth birthday, and was instantly obsessed. I’ve grown quite the little collection over the years, which I’m really quite happy with. If you happened to watch her video about Make-Up Revolution, you’ll know that her heart and soul goes into everything she creates. As I’ve been a fan for years, I fully trust that I’m getting the best of the best when investing in her products. Today I’m going through the items that I’ve bought this year, and my first impressions of them.

Shade & Light Eye Contour Palette.

The Shade & Light Eye Contour Palette has instantly become my go-to palette. The shades are all completely versatile, and I can use them with ease during both night and day. It comes with a little guide also, to achieve multiple different eye looks with the same twelve shades. Over the course of the last year or so, I’ve become obsessed with warm-toned grunge eye looks. Hence, the red and orange-toned shades have been the first ones I reach for. Extremely pigmented, buttery and blend-able, it’s the perfect my-house-is-on-fire-and-I-can-only-grab-one-palette palette. Not that I’d be reaching for make-up in that scenario, but y’know… Anyway! The point is, I don’t see myself reaching for anything else any time soon!

Tattoo Liner.

This has made winged eyeliner the easiest thing in the world. At first, I tried the Ink Liner, which I might do a comparison post on soon. The Tattoo Liner is a felt tip liner with a paintbrush-like tip. Super black, super thin and precise, and incredibly easy to get that perfect, sharp wing tip. My eyelids are quite oily, but this stays in place all day with ease. I’ll never use another liquid eyeliner, I thoroughly recommend this to everyone!

Everlasting Liquid Lipstick.

Liquid lipstick has become a girl’s best friend in the last few years. What with the fact that they’re pigmented but armour-like in strength, you can’t help but love ’em. The Kat Von D Beauty Everlasting Liquid Lipstick is no exception to the rule. I currently have three in my collection (‘Outlaw’, ‘Lolita’ and ‘Nahz Fur Atoo’), but I see myself buying many more in the near future. I think these three are base favourites in any make-up lovers collection. ‘Lolita’ is a true pink-toned nude, ‘Outlaw’ (not pictured) is a vibrant bright red, and ‘Nah Fur Atoo’ is a deep, blue-toned red. I’m not very adventurous when it comes to lip colours, so these are all perfect for me. As I said, incredibly pigmented and they don’t budge an inch. I can’t wait to try them with their coordinating lip liners later this year!

Studded Kiss Lipstick.

For those of you who aren’t fans of liquid lipsticks, there are options for you too! The Studded Kiss Lipsticks are in the typical lipstick bullet, in the most beautiful black studded packaging. Matte in finish, they’re perfect if you’re looking for pigment without the permanency of a liquid lipstick. I currently own two, ‘Magick’ and ‘Mercy’. I was actually gifted ‘Mercy’ at the Kat Von D Beauty launch in Dublin, which was so incredibly kind of them. ‘Magic’ (not pictured) is a vibrant, pink-toned nude with silver shimmer. ‘Mercy’ is incredibly unique, a burgundy purple hue with pink-toned shimmer. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but perfect for making a statement. They also do coordinating versions of the Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks in Studded Kiss form, so there’s guaranteed to be something for everyone!

Kat Von D Beauty can be purchased from katvondbeauty.com, as well as from the Debenhams website.
